I once read that “A house without Art Is like a house with no windows.”
I’m a self-taught oil painter with an eclectic approach to the many subjects I wish to portray. While the beauty of our landscape provides a never-ending inspiration for the painter, many domestic scenes can also strike an emotional chord that says, “Paint me”.
I occasionally go outside to do Plein Air paintings when the weather is nice and there are no bugs flying into my paint. However, I am a Studio Painter at heart.
My primary references are the photographs which I have taken during my many years of extensive travel. I now find it impossible to go anywhere without constantly looking for things or places to paint. Even if it means pulling over on the side of an Interstate to shoot a picture.
Each time a client acquires one of my paintings I try to foresee the time when their Children, Grandchildren and even Great Grandchildren will be enjoying it during their lifetimes. Because of that, I believe Art is one of the most beneficial and cost effective purchases a person will ever make. The money paid for most things will have been long gone, as well as the purchased item. But that work of Art continues to be enjoyed by its owners, through generations of time.
